BigBlueButton for Mathematics
This page collects some hints on using BigBlueButton for mathematics courses or exams. Mutatis mutandis, the suggestions and strategies presented in this collection can also be helpful when using other video conferencing or distance teaching tools.
The challenge, of course, is to be able to communicate your mathematical thoughts by handwriting such that your audience can follow your thoughts.
We started to collect some hints for
- Convertibles or graphic tablets
- Android tablets
- iPads
- Using your webcam or the camera of your smartphone
Apart from these considerations, please use a headset or a specialised microphone in order to improve the sound quality. While BigBlueButton has some form of echo cancellation, physically making sure that there is no echo improves the quality drastically.
